Live Streaming - Day Five
Two hour set from a one hour backing track, that's one hour of improv! See, I told you it would work, and in the first week!
Ok so not smooth in that a listener can probably pick out the prepared stuff over the live improv, but it's all music and it worked well.
Next week I'll focus on the DAW Ableton, now that I'm happy with the direction the studio is taking. I'll load up some loops midi and audio and start working on how I can transpose two synths at the same time and how to move out of one groove and into another.
The matrix brute is a godsend. I had the Jp8000 running two chords and the mother32 playing off the chords, tweaking each as I open the filters slowly. Once I got to the drop I killed the jp and the mother at the same time as I started a new arp on the matrix brute, my very first perfect live transition.
VCVRack is just not working for me. I think it might be latency with pulse audio. I think when I got jack working it is being used via pulse audio which negates any benefits. I'll try removing pulse audio altogether and see if I can use JACK only. I'll post on monday with results if any.
