Why Blog?

EMC23 - Web Development Blog

TechbotThis blog is to collate the professional experiences from the members of EMC23. It is to allow us share our knowledge, both to help each other improve, but also to serve as a set of guidelines, assumptions etc., and maybe make up for the loss in tacit information due to the lack of informal chat that teleworking and collaborating online may entail.

It is also to allow us communicate with our peers in other professions with whom we have a special working relationship. This allows us put up our mistakes for peer review should anyone wish to improve our understandings.

Myself, Lisa, and Kevin have been playing around with Joomla for 5 years since it was known as Mambo. It was a steep learning curve dealing with server configurations, hacks, over-enthusiasm for plugins that were doomed, and our own very labours in the arts of PHP and CSS. I hope that by keeping these blogs focused and honest, we will be able to add to the Joomla community our own small contribution.

Joomla tip of the day

Manager Status is lowest of three backend access ranks.

Access to the minimum amount of buttons, uncomplicated, but potentially powerful when typical content is concerned.
