Joomla User Group Ireland

TechbotTo promote Joomla in our locality, and to improve on the standards it raises by encouraging a community of sharing, we've have launched the Joomla Users Group Ireland online at www.JoomlaIreland.org.

We're still waiting for approval from Joomla.org but we needed to fill out info regarding contacts and emails, so it was a kind of chicken and egg situation.

However we don't foresee any issues and will change whatever is necessary to be fully compliant with the wishes of Open Source Matters.

The main three main stipulations as far as I can see are

  1. None of our output can be confused with that of the OSM or Joomla - we are a support group and are not affiliated with Joomla in any way.
  2. we meet at least twice a year
  3. We do not offer non gnu/gpl joomla extensions on the user groups site

All of this is, and always will be, the case. Please feel free to hop over and register. www.JoomlaIreland.org

Joomla tip of the day

When an admin clicks on a content page it gets locked to prevent others from editing it at the same time.

It becomes unlocked once the admin clicks "Cancel" or "Save".

However, if the admin closes the browser or leaves the page some other way, the file will remain locked until the admin in question returns to the content page and clicks "Save " or "Cancel".

Alternatively:

To unlock a page, logon as SuperAdmin and click System --> Global Checkin (at the end of the menu bar) this will unlock any files.
